Huzhou strengthens ties with Germany

The Sino-German Innovation Industry Cooperation Seminar & Huzhou City Promotion Conference was held in Munich, Germany on July 4.

More than 80 esteemed guests, including representatives from German business associations such as the China-Germany Friendship Association and the Bavarian China-Germany Economic and Cultural Association, as well as German companies such as Scherdel and MicroVision, attended the meeting.

German participants were quick to acknowledge Huzhou's strategic location in the heart of the Yangtze River Delta, along with its thriving industries and harmonious living and working conditions. Recognizing the close economic and trade exchanges between Huzhou and Germany in recent years, they expressed their confidence in the enormous cooperation potential that continues to exist between both sides.

Delegates from Huzhou emphasized the vibrancy of the current Chinese economy and stressed the importance of deepening trust and strengthening cooperation between Germany and China. They reassured the audience that Huzhou is committed to providing a convenient, fair, and law-based business climate, welcoming German and European companies to visit and invest in Huzhou.

During the conference, agreements were reached between Huzhou and Germany in various areas, including economy, trade, education, and science and technology.

The Huzhou Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology signed a cooperation agreement with Germany-based Zeppelin University, with a focus on promoting the integration of industry, academia, and research. Additionally, the Huzhou Investment Promotion Center and the German Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade pledged to strengthen cooperation in technology and innovation.

Prior to the conference, Huzhou's Southern Taihu New District and Scherdel signed a contract, according to which the German company will invest 37 million euros ($40.78 million) to kick off the construction of the third phase of an automotive precision parts project in the district.
