The 3rd International Symposium on Fruit Culture along Silk Road Countries took place from July 10 to 14 in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province. This symposium brought together participants from nine countries, including the United States and France.

During the event, on July 13, over 100 attendees visited Huzhou, a city neighboring Hangzhou.

The delegation had the opportunity to explore an orchard that cultivates Red Beauty, a premium variety of citrus, in Lianshi town. They also visited Digang, an ancient village known for its mulberry fish ponds. These ponds have a unique dike-pond model that combines fish farming with the breeding of mulberry silkworms. Recognizing its significance, this model was acknowledged as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in 2017.

The delegates spoke highly of Huzhou's remarkable efforts to develop its fruit industry and create beautiful rural areas.

In addition to the visit, local agricultural enterprises in Huzhou utilized the symposium to showcase their exceptional fruit and tea products. This exhibition allowed them to highlight the quality and diversity of their agricultural products to a wider audience.
