A photovoltaic power station, which was formerly an abandoned mine, has recently commenced operations in Donghong village, Daixi town, Huzhou.

Standing over an impressive span of approximately 1,400 mu (93.33 hectares), the power station possesses the capacity to generate an annual electricity output of 61.14 million kilowatt-hours. It will also create significant land rental revenue for over 1,300 local villagers.

The groundbreaking project serves as a key component of the government's extensive campaign to repurpose abandoned mine sites.

Thanks to this concerted effort, numerous disused mining areas have experienced a remarkable transformation into environmentally-friendly structures such as photovoltaic power stations and ecological parks. Consequently, this initiative has not only contributed to ecological enhancements but has also yielded considerable economic benefits.
