Coffee shops in the countryside have been gaining traction in Huzhou's Wuxing district, offering visitors a chance to indulge in a cup of coffee while immersing themselves in the idyllic rural scenery.

These coffee shops go beyond just serving coffee; they represent a new business model and consumer experience that has brought diversity to rural tourism.

One such coffee shop, Gucheng Coffee, located in Shijiaqiao village, Daochang township, quickly became a hit among locals and tourists after it opened on Oct 1, 2022.

Chen Zeren, owner of the shop, stated that during peak seasons, the shop sees an influx of 300 to 400 customers per day. The shop's location on a previously abandoned hill adds to its charm.

Chen believes that the fast-paced urban lifestyle has placed immense pressure on many young people, leading them to seek solace in the tranquility of rural life.

Another popular coffee shop, Nanlu Garden, situated in Daochang township, has also captured the attention of tourists and local residents.

Interestingly, unlike Gucheng Coffee, Nanlu Garden was established by four young entrepreneurs born in 1990s who are not originally from Daochang township. Ke Danli, one of the owners, explained, "None of us are from Daochang township, but in 2022, we made the decision to start this venture. When we were looking for a location, we were captivated by the abundance of mineral pits and the nearby lake."

"In the past, everyone used to flock to cities, but now more and more people prefer to stay in the countryside. Urban coffee is seen as a way to 'recharge', while countryside coffee is all about relaxation. That's why I came here - to not only experience work but also enjoy life," expressed Hui Hui, manager of Nanlu Garden.
