The Yangtze River Delta Semiconductor New Material Industry Development Forum took place in Huzhou's Nanxun district on Sept 16, gathering more than 100 industry experts to discuss the growth of the district's semiconductor new material industry.

Semiconductors are a type of material extensively used in various fields, including new energy, optoelectronics, and biomedicine.

The guidelines presented at the forum revealed that Nanxun aims to expand the scale of the semiconductor new material industry to more than 5 billion yuan ($685.93 million) by 2025.

In addition, the event marked the official opening of the Yangtze River Delta Semiconductor New Material Industry Park. Situated in Linghu town's provincial chemical park, the park spans nearly 10,000 mu (666.67 hectares)  in total. Ningbo Microchip New Material Technology Co Ltd became the first company to establish a presence in the park and plans to construct a plant with the capacity to produce thousands of metric tons of electronic-grade photoresist materials annually.

The company's CEO acknowledged that aside from the advantageous location and transportation, they were particularly drawn to Nanxun due to the helpful and targeted services it offers. "From the initial site layout to the signing of the project, it took just over a month. We were not anticipating things to move so quickly," he remarked.
