Four localities in Huzhou have recently been listed among the seventh group of historical and cultural towns, villages, and blocks in Zhejiang province.

The four honor recipients are Qianyuan town, Gucheng village, Yangfeng village, and Lianxi Historical and Cultural Block.

Qianyuan town, located in Deqing County, has a history spanning over 2,200 years and served as a county seat for more than 1,300 years. The town is adorned with well-preserved historical relics, showcasing its rich cultural heritage.

Gucheng village, situated in the southern part of Wuxing district, holds the distinction of being the birthplace of Huzhou, also with a remarkable history of over 2,200 years. The village is home to the revered Chongyang Palace, renowned as the "No 1 Taoist Temple in Zhejiang".

Nestled in the northwest of Changxing county, Yangfeng village shares its borders with Guangde county in Anhui province. Dating back to the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279), this village exudes a strong revolutionary spirit, having served as a base for the New Fourth Army's Jiangsu-Zhejiang Military Region during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45). It is home to the most intact and extensive revolutionary site from the anti-Japanese period in the Jiangnan region.

Lianxi Historical and Cultural Block, located within Lianshi town in Nanxun district, typifies a Jiangnan water town. The granary cluster in Lianshi town, situated within the block, is a well-preserved, large-scale historical and cultural heritage site, boasting distinct temporal characteristics that epitomize Zhejiang's rich legacy.
