In recognition of its exceptional talent appeal, Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province was recently honored with the China Best Employer Award during an award ceremony held in Chengdu, Sichuan province.

The event was a collaborative effort between the online recruitment platform Zhaopin.com and Peking University. A panel of judges conducted a comprehensive and scientific evaluation of cities based on their talent attraction and retention capabilities. The selection process took into account three key aspects: talent attraction, talent retention, and talent vitality. After a thorough analysis of comprehensive big data on urban employment, Huzhou emerged as a winner.

In recent years, Huzhou has consistently ranked high in national talent rankings. It secured the 29th position among Chinese cities with the highest talent appeal and the 31st position among cities with the strongest appeal to the post-1995 generation. Additionally, Huzhou has been chosen as a national model for innovative talent work for four consecutive years.

Recognizing that attracting talent is just the first step, Huzhou places equal importance on talent retention. The city has strategically focused on eight emerging industries, including semiconductors, optoelectronics, and new energy vehicles, making attracting high-level talent a top priority.

This year, Huzhou introduced the Huzhou Talent Day and launched a new phase of the Southern Taihu Elite Plan, a recruitment initiative led by the local government. These efforts have resulted in the successful recruitment of nearly 90,000 university students.

Under the Southern Taihu Elite Plan, Huzhou has established 29 industrial parks and 53 new research and development institutions, such as the Zhejiang University (Huzhou) Research Institute and the University of Electronic Science and Technology of the China Yangtze River Delta Research Institute. Furthermore, several universities, including Zhejiang University of Technology, Zhejiang University of Science and Technology, and Zhejiang University of Water Resources and Electric Power, have established a presence in the city.
