Huzhou, situated in East China's Zhejiang province, has recorded exports of Chinese herbal medicines worth 60 million yuan ($8.44 million) in the first 11 months of this year, up by 51.9 percent year-on-year, according to official statistics.

The impressive results can be largely attributed to the tremendous support provided by Huzhou Customs to herbal medicine enterprises. The authorities have  implemented a range of measures, including the establishment of a dedicated 24-hour green channel for customs clearance and inspection services as well as an online appointment scheduling system, thereby streamlining the export process for traditional Chinese medicine.

Wang Bing, president of Deqing Botanical Co Ltd, expressed appreciation for the efforts of Huzhou Customs, stating, "We are particularly grateful for the customs authorities' timely guidance in obtaining a phytosanitary certificate, which is crucial for the successful entry of our herbal medicines into the German market. Their support has greatly boosted our confidence."

The prominence of traditional Chinese medicine on the international stage continues to grow, as evidenced by its presence in 196 countries and regions, according to the recently concluded 6th Belt and Road Traditional Chinese Medicine Development Forum in China.
