Huzhou, located in East China's Zhejiang province, has made significant strides in rural vitalization by implementing tailored development strategies.

Since its inception in 2012, the campaign has yielded impressive results. In 2023 alone, Huzhou initiated 722 customized projects for 194 underdeveloped villages with annual operational incomes of less than 800,000 yuan ($111,410).

The success story of Liujiadu village stands as a testament to the effectiveness of these customized rural development strategies and the potential for vibrant rural economies in the region.

Situated in Lijiaxiang town, Changxing county, Liujiadu experienced a surge in operational income from 538,800 yuan in 2022 to 1 million yuan in 2023, as revealed by Shen Xinhua, Party Secretary of the village.

Previously categorized as one of the underdeveloped villages in Huzhou, Liujiadu underwent a remarkable transformation in 2023, when it repurposed agricultural houses into working spaces for 18 enterprises, leveraging its proximity to two industrial parks.

"By promoting innovation and tailoring approaches to each village, we aim to showcase rural vitality in this new era," stated an official at the Huzhou Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. 

Currently, more than 90 percent of administrative villages in the city have attained an annual collective operational income of over 800,000 yuan, and the city aims to raise this proportion to 100 percent by 2025.
