Above-designated-size enterprises in the service sector in Huzhou generated 15.72 billion yuan ($2.17 billion) in revenue in the first four months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 16.5 percent and the second-highest growth rate among cities in Zhejiang province.

During the recent Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the busy scene at Boya Resort in Huzhou's Anji county exemplified the city's flourishing tourism industry.

The resort's operational revenue surged to 3 million yuan from January to April, doubling the figure from the same period in 2023. Chairman Qian Genfa has ambitious plans for expansion, including a 3,000-square-meter lawn and a 2,000-square-meter vegetable base, with a target revenue of 8 million yuan for 2024.

In addition to the thriving tourism sector, Huzhou has been making significant progress in developing the digital culture and digital trade industries as it seeks to further develop the modern service sector, with the ultimate goal of building the city into a provincial-level modern service industry innovation zone.
