Shandong unveils top innovations in 2023: A year of breakthroughs

Shandong province celebrated its scientific and technological prowess by helding a news briefing of the top 10 scientific and technological developments in China in 2023. During the briefing, the province also revealed the highly anticipated list of its own top 10 innovations for the year.

Raytron Technology Co Ltd, a high-tech company based in Yantai, stood out with its eight-micrometer non-cooling infrared thermal imaging module, securing a spot among Shandong's top 10 innovations. Equally impressive was the inclusion of projects like the iron-based fifth-branched rubber from the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, an affiliated institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

These innovations were carefully selected by academicians, reflecting Shandong's commitment to scientific progress and international leadership. The province's dedication to innovation as the driving force for development is evident, with the province consistently focusing on major achievements as the cornerstone of their work.

Initiating the provincial excellent achievements' release in July 2023, Shandong has amassed 603 cutting-edge contributions. Six batches, totaling 30 major achievements, have already been disclosed, fostering collaboration between universities, research institutions, and enterprises. This strategic approach has yielded over 50 cooperation agreements and investments exceeding 210 million yuan ($29.56 million), underlining Shandong's significant strides in precise science and technology collaboration.
