In anticipation of the upcoming Paris Olympic Games, the 10th Nishan Forum on World Civilizations included a sports culture forum for the first time.

Wang Ruilian, deputy secretary of the Party Leadership Group and deputy director of the General Administration of Sport of China, and Wang Suilian, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Shandong Provincial People's Congress and chairperson of the Shandong Federation of Industry and Commerce, delivered speeches at the forum.

During the event, participants explored the shared values and goals between traditional Chinese culture, the Chinese sporting spirit, and the Olympic spirit represented by the slogan "faster, higher, stronger, and more united". They sought new concepts and paths for the preservation, dissemination and promotion of sports culture in the new era, and worked to create internationally inclusive channels for dialogue on world civilizations.

Wang Ruilian highlighted the similarities between traditional Chinese culture and Olympic culture, noting that they can complement and enhance each other. Through the Olympic movement and cultural exchange, China can share its sports stories, promote the Chinese sporting spirit and strengthen international sports cooperation, he said.

Wang Suilian expressed hope that leaders and experts would exchange ideas and insights, further promoting the integration and mutual enrichment of traditional Chinese culture and the Olympic spirit and advancing the exchange and fusion of Eastern and Western sports cultures.

In the second stage of the forum, initiated by Shandong Sport University, five domestic and international organizations jointly signed a memorandum of understanding on the "Research Cooperation for the Integration of Traditional Chinese Culture and the Olympic Spirit".
