The "Grand Qilu Cultural Model" is a digital cultural platform created by Dazhong Media Group, which was launched on Nov 28, 2024, bringing new life to Qilu culture through digital technologies.
This platform features key functions such as cultural gene decoding, a cultural knowledge Q&A, historical figure dialogues, natural landscape replication, and cultural product creation.
The first phase of the "Grand Qilu Cultural Model" project features six major sections, including historical figures, cultural classics, cultural heritage, humanistic natural landscapes, intangible cultural heritage, and revolutionary culture. It encompasses 46 cultural symbols of Shandong and has a preliminary dataset of 20 billion records.
An important topic in recent days has been how to pass down and revitalize Qilu culture, with a significant approach being the use of digital empowerment to facilitate cultural transformation.
For instance, the AI "resurrection" of old photos on the platform was a trending feature last year. Through AI techniques, these resurrected old photos inject vitality into the depths of history, garnering significant praise from internet users.
Reviving millennia-old civilizations in the digital realm stands out as a highlight of Shandong's new digital cultural infrastructure, the "Grand Qilu Cultural Model".
"By presenting information digitally and gathering various forms of information in a novel manner, the platform is particularly attractive to younger audiences. This facilitates the better preservation of excellent traditional culture," said Huang Fayou, dean of the School of Literature and the School of Cultural Communication at Shandong University.
