A recent large-scale yangko dance performance in Haiyang, Yantai, Shandong province, has enveloped the local residents in the traditional charm and festive ambiance of Chinese New Year.
The extravaganza witnessed the cultural exchange of three distinct regional folk performance styles — the Ansai waist drum dance from northern Shaanxi, yingge dance from Guangdong, and yangko dance from Shandong.

Over 1,000 performers took to the stage, accompanied by cheerful drumbeats, creating a lively and spirited atmosphere.
Among the five yangko teams from Haiyang participating in the event, one team from Haiyang Light Industry Elementary School stood out. The students' impressive performances were the result of efforts to promote yangko dance in schools in Haiyang.
