More than 200 attendees from over 150 Shandong and Nigerian enterprises gathered at the China (Shandong) – Nigeria Economic and Trade Cooperation Matchmaking Conference in Lagos, Nigeria on March 14.

Shandong and Nigeria, especially Lagos, have close economic and trade ties. Many Shandong companies have invested in Nigeria and participated in infrastructure construction, contributing to Nigeria's economic development, according to Zhang Qingwei, deputy director of the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province.

He further expressed hope that both sides will deepen pragmatic cooperation in trade, investment, infrastructure and other fields to achieve even better outcomes.

China – Nigeria economic and trade cooperation has made remarkable progress in recent years with expanding bilateral trade, said the president of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry during the conference.

He hopes to use this opportunity to further strengthen comprehensive exchanges and cooperation between the two sides and plans to lead a delegation of entrepreneurs to Shandong this year.

At the conference, participating enterprises took part in in-depth talks on engineering construction, park recruitment, auto parts, agricultural machinery, trade cooperation and other fields, and reached a number of preliminary cooperation agreements.
