Sichuan Vocational College of Information Technology
Sichuan Vocational College of Information Technology is a state-run vocational college offering a three-year higher education, located in Guangyuan city, Sichuan province, China. Established in 1976, it was identified as a provincial demonstrative college on July 1, 2013.
Currently, the college has two campuses with a floor area of 520 mu (about 35 hectares), 538 staff and over 9,900 students. There are 35 specialties such as applied electronics, software and numerical control, information safety and management, the applied technology of the "Internet of Things", and more.
There are two specialties supported by the central government to enhance professional service ability, three national backbone specialties, two modern apprenticeship reform pilot specialties run by the Ministry of Education and five provincial pilot specialties. Students have won more than 100 national awards.
The school has established four development platforms (an innovation and entrepreneurship platform, a school-enterprise cooperation platform, a collectivized school-running platform and a technical service platform), a batch of technique centers and innovative practice bases. It is thus advancing along a path towards a higher vocational education model which integrates education with industry.
The school's achievements have been widely recognized. It has won one second prize for national teaching achievements, and one first prize and four third prizes for provincial teaching achievements.
It also won the 5th Huang Yanpei Excellent School Award for Vocational Education, the "2012 Advanced Unit of National Fitness Activities" and the "Third Batch of National Entrepreneurship Incubation Demonstration Bases", Sichuan Province's Advanced Unit for Employment of Graduates from General Colleges and Universities, Sichuan Province's Civilized Unit, and other honorary titles.
