The city of Hefei – capital of East China's Anhui province – launched its first Application Scenario Innovation Contest on Nov 15.
The event was designed to promote scenario openness, provide data and resources necessary for the research and development of cutting-edge technologies, establish a data-driven business cycle and integrate technology innovation within the city's industrial supply chain.
Centering on six categories – carbon peak and carbon neutrality, urban governance, future industries, intelligent manufacturing, technology for the people and digital infrastructure – the event received about 100 proposals from contestants from different backgrounds.
After three qualifying rounds, 18 projects will be selected for the finals.

The companies Key-on New Material, Thrtech, and Anhui Tomorrow New Energy Technology stood out and entered the final round of the contest.
Besides evaluation from industrial professionals, investment and financing services are another highlight of the contest.
Over 10 finance institutions – including the Bank of China International and Citic Bank – provided real-time tracking and financial consulting services, winning plaudits from the enterprises involved.
The Application Scenario Innovation Contest promotes the settlement of green technologies and applications. Through the event, the government and industry hope to spark people's creativity and accelerate the development of scenario application technologies, ultimately promoting Hefei's economic transformation.
