GUI entrepreneur's visuals bridge gap between science, art

Yang Yuanfan, a doctorate student in energy and power engineering at the University of Science and Technology of China, or USTC, has embarked on an entrepreneurial journey like no other in Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province.

That's after he joined the Science and Innovation Station of Shushan Park in the Grand Union of Innovation, or GUI - a tech hub and a tech innovation service platform - based in Hefei.

Founding Anhui Shengke Culture and Technology Co Ltd, Yang focuses on the fusion of science and art, offering visual representations of scientific achievements and cutting-edge scientific instruments.

Scientific visualization, the core of Yang's work, aims to popularize scientific knowledge and methods by presenting complex concepts in an accessible and visually appealing manner.

Yang believes in the immense value of bringing science out of the laboratories and into the lives of ordinary people.

With a diverse team of experts from various fields – including the arts, sciences, and humanities - Yang's team excels in understanding intricate scientific principles and effectively communicating them through artistic means.

Their work includes depicting research instruments and achievements from USTC and Chinese Academy of Sciences laboratories – showcasing them in visual representations in exhibitions like the recent "When Technology Meets Beauty · In The Lab."

While pursuing his doctorate, Yang emphasizes the importance of being in close proximity to the university.

With the support from Science and Innovation Station of the Grand Union of Innovation Shushan Park, the team enjoys a strategic location near the campus, along with rent waivers, favorable start-up policies and other support services.

The favorable entrepreneurial platform and environment has allowed the team to expand and attract like-minded individuals.
