Haifang Technology: Pioneering new path in digital arena of energy industry

In the Grand Union of Innovation (GUi), energy industry costs are sharply decreasing thanks to the rise of a developer specializing in Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) simulation software.

In 2024, Haifang Technology established a wholly-owned subsidiary in GUi, emphasizing vertical specialization and technological innovation to combine AI with Multiphysics simulation technology.

Through "scenario customization", the company developed a lithium battery design platform that features integrated cathode material libraries and electrolyte parameter models. This enables design engineers to handle the entire process more efficiently - from choosing materials to forecasting performance.

Xie Wenfeng and Zhao Honggang, founders of Haifang Technology, didn't choose to specialize in lithium batteries and petrochemicals for no reason. Instead of competing in the crowded general CAE software market, they chose to pioneer a new route and explore it.

Haifang Technology's R&D laboratory made significant progress by incorporating AI optimization, cutting down the battery thermal runaway calculation time from 4 hours to just 28 minutes, and boosting prediction accuracy by 15 percent.

Haifang Technology has developed more than 10 standardized CAE software packages. These support coupled analysis across various engineering fields like structures, fluids, thermal conduction, and electrochemistry. Their applications span industries such as lithium batteries, energy storage, automotive, petrochemicals, steel, and combustion turbines.

Li Jin, head of Haifang Technology, states that the investment in Hefei was driven by its strategic location, strong industrial foundations, and policy support. Furthermore, GUi acts as a bridge for Haifang to collaborate with universities like the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and Hefei University of Technology, facilitating access to research and talent.

Li described GUi as an "innovation catalyst", emphasizing its function in promoting strategic investments and encouraging collaborations, such as the creation of a joint AI laboratory with the tech giant iFlytek.
