Anhui and Hong Kong collaborate to facilitate IPO pathways

East China's Anhui province and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region have been working together to explore opportunities for Anhui enterprises to be listed in Hong Kong, with support from the Grand Union of Innovation (GUi), an innovation hub in Hefei, the provincial capital.

A forum was held recently at the GUi Space, bringing together stakeholders from Anhui and Hong Kong to explore new pathways for listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

The forum attracted over 100 enterprises, which represented diverse sectors such as advanced manufacturing, new energy, biomedicine, aerospace, semiconductors, and consumer goods, highlighting keen interest among Anhui-based companies in pursuing IPOs in Hong Kong.

During the opening session, Zhang Liye, vice-president of GUiTEK, emphasized Hong Kong's status as a leading global financial center and capital platform. He noted that Hong Kong, with its strategic position of connecting the mainland with the world, serves as an ideal launchpad for innovative mainland enterprises seeking international expansion.

In recent years, collaboration between Anhui and Hong Kong has deepened. The GUi is facilitating this partnership through initiatives such as the Victoria Harbour Forum, strategic partnerships with Hong Kong Cyberport, and the establishment of the GUi Hong Kong Innovation Center. These platforms provide essential services such as establishing representative offices and facilitating capital connections, thereby supporting enterprises in their pre-IPO and IPO preparations.

Meng Huanliang from the Anhui Equity Exchange highlighted the critical role of multi-tiered capital markets in enabling small and medium-sized enterprises to scale new heights. Anhui Equity Exchange is committed to assisting Anhui enterprises in seizing new listing opportunities and accompanying them in their growth journey, Meng said.

After the forum, representative growth enterprises attended a closed-door seminar for candid discussions on equity restructuring, industry compliance, and global expansion.

Forum participants agreed that the event will serve as a catalyst for further strengthening the resource synergy between Hong Kong and Anhui's innovative enterprises, thereby promoting high-quality development in the international capital markets.
