The Grand Union of Innovation (GUi) marked another milestone as the GUi-Shanghai Innovation Center was inaugurated during the 2025 GUi (Shanghai) Promotion Conference.
The ceremony was attended by guests such as Wang Huajun, director of Hefei Municipal People's Government's Shanghai Liaison Office; Zhang Liye, executive vice-president of GUiTEK Service Platform; and representatives from Chengwei Capital and Hefei Investment Promotion, signifying a new stage of innovation partnerships between Anhui and Shanghai.
Co-hosted by GUiTEK and Chengwei Capital, with support from the Anhui Automobile Innovation Center and the Shanghai Synthetic Biology Innovation Center, the event attracted representatives from government, academia, industry, and finance.
Through policy presentations, industry analysis, and capital matchmaking, it highlighted GUi's expanding innovation ecosystem and the increasing industrial opportunities in Anhui.
Anhui's rapid industrial growth is driven by its "linkage and empowerment" strategy. Hefei's venture city initiative has organized over 750 events, supporting nearly 1,900 industrial projects and attracting more than 380 billion yuan ($53.32 billion) in investments, establishing a comprehensive service system.
At the heart of the innovation ecosystem, GUi is committed to exploring new models of collaboration. It has attracted and nurtured more than 7,000 tech enterprises and service institutions, drawn 70,000 talents, established 13 innovation centers worldwide, and built a fund pool exceeding 250 billion yuan.
At this Shanghai showcase, GUi also presented a dynamic exchange of ideas where technology, industry, and capital converge. The event brought together top professionals from electronics, automotive, synthetic biology, and startups, providing insights into cutting-edge topics like AI chips, automotive strategies, synthetic biology, and photonic technologies.

"GUi is emerging as a key hub for tech enterprises across the Yangtze River Delta," according to a GUiTEK representative. Through this new center, GUi aims to deepen collaboration between Anhui and Shanghai, expand its innovation network, and enable more global talent and projects to land and thrive in Anhui.
