GUiTEK and Fuyang Normal University signed a strategic cooperation agreement on July 10, with both sides pledging to deepen the integration of academic and corporate resources and facilitate the transformation of research achievements into industrial applications.
The agreement marks the joint efforts of GUiTEK, which operates the Grand Union of Innovation (GUi), an innovation hub in Hefei in East China's Anhui province, and FNU, based in Fuyang city, Anhui, to strengthen the technology transfer and commercialization alliance forged by Anhui provincial universities and support the innovation-driven development in the region.
The partnership outlines five key priorities: establishing a collaborative mechanism for technological research achievements; promoting GUiTEK's innovation resources to be applied in Fuyang and northern Anhui to help with the region's industrial transformation and upgrading; conducting joint training on technology transfer, entrepreneurship, investment and financing; jointly recruiting tech talents both at home and abroad; and co-building a technology transfer center at FNU.
During the signing ceremony, Fang Tingyong, FNU's president, emphasized the significance of this partnership in supporting local industrial development. He highlighted the university's commitment to drawing on its academic and talent resources to align with market-oriented innovation services.
Wu Hailong, chairman of GUiTEK, noted that since its inception in 2022, the company has developed a comprehensive innovation service system, lowering innovation and startup costs for university faculty and students.
Following the signing, attendees engaged in discussions on the entire chain of the commercialization of academic research achievements.
