As part of the "Nanqi Weekend" series, a training session on skills for compiling business plans was held at the Grand Union of Innovation (GUi), an innovation hub in Hefei in East China's Anhui province. The session aimed to help local technological enterprises enhance their capability to align projects with potential funding.
Tian Runqing, a seasoned finance consultant and founder of Beijing Kerongyun Consulting, provided a comprehensive training session on creating high-quality business plans (BPs) and financing practices.

Tian Runqing provides a training session on creating high-quality business plans (BPs) and financing practices.
Tian emphasized that a BP is not merely a "corporate self-introduction" but an "invitation to investors", suggesting that investment represents an opportunity for investors.
He provided practical advice for different scenarios, including offline presentations, online pitches and investor reviews, recommending that BPs should generally not exceed 30 pages, with complex tech projects capped at 40 pages. The key is to succinctly highlight investment opportunities to capture the attention of potential investors, he said.
Aligning with multiple examples, Tian outlined 10 core modules of a BP and emphasized the "investment highlights" as the soul of the document.
Tian gave a rigorous analytical framework for industry analysis, stressing that business opportunities should be grounded in real-world, demand-driven factors.
Centering on modules such as product technology, competition barriers, business model, operating data and team background, he illustrated how to present technical advantages of commercial aerospace and eldercare technology in layman's terms. He also showcased how to support growth achievements with data and demonstrate team synergy through complementarities.
Tian asserted that a successful BP should not only explain how a company will achieve profitability but also outline future growth potential and exit strategies, such as IPOs or acquisitions, to assure investors of predictable returns. The BP should end by focusing on the company's vision, providing an emotional punch for investors.
Participants praised the session for clarifying misconceptions about BP writing, and deepening their understanding of capital market priorities.
GUiTEK plans to continue focusing on the development needs of tech enterprises by offering the "Nanqi Weekend" series sessions, building an efficient platform for exchange and cooperation and facilitating their access to more capital.
