During their visit to the GUi, the scholars gained a deep understanding of the full-chain service system of this hub of innovation and entrepreneurship, which includes commercialization of sci-tech research achievements, enterprise incubation, and industry catalysis. They were impressed by Anhui's pioneering spirit and Hefei's unique character as a science city.

As a testing ground for Anhui's science and technology reforms and a fertile ground for innovation and entrepreneurship, the GUi is committed to providing the best environment for innovation, comprehensive channels for technology transfer, and warm services for talent.

Over the past four years, more than 2,800 new technology companies have chosen GUi as their base. A total of more than 7,000 tech enterprises and innovation service institutions have been established in the innovation and entrepreneurship hub.

GUi hosts more than 70,000 innovative talents and has set up 30 innovation centers both at home and abroad. It boasts over 200 funds with an accumulative amount of more than 250 billion yuan ($37 billion).

To address challenges faced by new-coming talent, such as high costs and resource scarcity, GUi has established 10 venues under the "Tech Talents Community" initiative, offering short-term office space and comprehensive services, including policy guidance and financing support.

The scholars also visited the Fusion Innovation Exhibition Hall, the Health Research Institute at the Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center, and other innovative companies in fields like new energy, quantum information and biomedicine. Through in-depth exchanges with experts in the fields, they gained a systematic understanding of Hefei's strategic role in national technological innovation.

The Oxford and Cambridge scholars' visit to Hefei exemplifies the city's commitment to its talent-driven strategy and its proactive efforts to connect with global intellectual resources to forge deep collaboration between high-end international talent and Hefei's key industries, innovation platforms and universities, thereby injecting fresh momentum into Hefei's industrial and innovation landscape.
