This development coincides with a significant breakthrough at its wholly owned subsidiary based at the Grand Union of Innovation (GUi) in Hefei in East China's Anhui province, as the advanced production base of the company has overcome the challenges in curbing the mass production of the high-temperature superconducting materials, achieving an industry-leading production capacity.

The annual production capacity for high-temperature superconducting powders has exceeded 10 metric tons, for superconducting targets more than 1,000 units, and for textured bulk materials more than 10,000 units.

This dual advancement marks a major milestone in the development of domestically produced high-temperature superconducting materials by FutMat, which was founded just over six months ago.

FutMat is focused on industrializing copper-based high-temperature superconducting materials and related applications. The company's core research team, originating from the Institute of Physics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is committed to breaking foreign monopolies and providing material support for sectors such as controlled nuclear fusion, superconducting power, and high-speed maglev trains.

A pivotal factor in FutMat's rapid progress is its strategic choice to establish its R&D and production base in Hefei. The decision was influenced by the favorable environment provided by the GUi. Initially planning a short-term visit, the team was impressed by the comprehensive support ecosystem and the advanced application scenarios for superconducting materials available in Hefei, leading to the decision to establish a base at the GUi.

The GUi offers a unique support system for tech startups, providing phased assistance, including free accommodation and workspace during initial phases and up to 300 square meters of free office space for high-potential companies. The local government and the GUi ensure seamless support across various stages of development, from talent acquisition to access to capital, creating a robust entrepreneurial support network.

FutMat's growth exemplifies Hefei's innovative approach to attracting tech talent and fostering technological innovation, moving beyond traditional methods that merely offer policies and spaces. This environment has been instrumental in the company's rapid development and success.

With the new funding and the operational production base in Hefei, FutMat is poised to enhance its research and innovation capabilities, improve product quality, and accelerate market expansion. The company plans to further explore the application of high-temperature superconducting materials across various fields, including controlled nuclear fusion and superconducting maglev trains, contributing to the nation's strategic goal of achieving self-reliance in advanced new materials.
