The Consulate General of the Republic of the Philippines in Xiamen was founded in January 1995. In May 1997, the consulate general was expanded to take charge of matters concerning Fujian and Jiangxi provinces. The current consul general is Maria Antonina Mendoza Oblena.
The consulate general has been making efforts in promoting friendship and cooperation between Xiamen and the Philippines since 1995, including the arrangement of the Philippines leaders' visits in Xiamen, and providing services for Chinese Filipinos to learn Chinese culture in Xiamen.
