Zhejiang companies head overseas early in 2026

Zhejiang launched its annual foreign trade promotion drive in the first week of the new year, signaling an early effort to help exporters secure overseas orders.

The 2026 campaign was officially unveiled in Jiaxing on Jan 6. According to the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province, the province aims to help more than 2,000 overseas business delegations this year.

The campaign is designed to intensify support for companies participating in overseas trade fairs and business missions. While working to stabilize traditional markets in Europe, the United States, Japan, and South Korea, Zhejiang is also encouraging exporters to expand into emerging markets such as ASEAN, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.

The initiative builds on momentum from 2025, when Zhejiang organized large numbers of enterprises to participate in overseas exhibitions and trade promotion activities. Those efforts generated intended orders totaling more than 180 billion yuan (about $25 billion).
