Memsic Semiconductor (Wuxi) Co., which mainly engages in producing sensor chips, is located in the Wuxi New District (WND), Jiangsu province. With a total investment of $34 million, the company is situated on a floor area of 26, 000 square meters.
The founder of the company is Zhao Yang, who returned to Wuxi in 1999 to set up the company after getting a PhD degree in physics at the prestigious Princeton University in the United States. In 15 years since its establishment, the company has become one of the world's largest producers of accelerator sensors for micro-electromechanical systems.
