The 8th Wuxi Micro Film Festival opened on Aug 8 and will be collecting entries until Oct 25.
The festival, sponsored by the Wuxi Publicity Department, Wuxi Culture & Tourism Development Group and Wuxi Ecologic Environment Administration, has been held seven times in total and has seen rapid growth over the years.
This year's festival, in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China, will also collect works which tell stories of the changes and achievements in Wuxi over the past 70 years. The reform and development of network information security, cultural tourism, and ecological environmental protection are expected to be major subjects of focus.
Lu Zhiqiang, manager of Wuxi Culture & Tourism Development Group, said a total award of 250,000 yuan ($35,400) will be offered to winners.
