A group of expats visited tourism attractions and cultural venues in Binhu district, Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, during the latest Discover Jiangsu trip on May 28.
The group included officials from the consulates of Ethiopia, Portugal, Sri Lanka, and other countries in Shanghai and international students from universities in Jiangsu.
The expats got to experience beautiful scenery and rich cultural heritage at sites such as Nianhuawan Scenic Area, Wuxi Plum Garden, Rongxiang Historical Block, and Rong Yiren Memorial Hall.
One foreign couple said that Binhu is like a resort that integrates nature, culture, and lifestyle. The Iranian husband, who was interested in China's history, said he thought Binhu was a great place to experience the culture of Jiangsu.
A South Korean student who loves photography said he discovered the beauty of Jiangnan (the region south of the Yangtze River) when he saw an immersive light show in 360 degrees at the Nianhuawan Scenic Area.
At the Rong Yiren Memorial Hall, a Russian student majoring in business administration said she learned more about the development of business in China, and that renowned local entrepreneur Rong's contributions inspired her.
Binhu is the second stop in this year's Discover Jiangsu series of activities held by the local government to enhance international exchange and give expats an opportunity to discover local history and culture.
