The award ceremony of the Second ASEAN-China "Friendship and Cooperation" Short Video Contest was held online in Wuxi and Beijing in China and Jakarta in Indonesia on Nov 11.
Over 15,000 short video works from about 10 countries were entered into the contest starting May 19 in celebration of the 30th anniversary of ASEAN-China dialogue relations.
These short videos, which included topics such as international cooperation in fighting COVID-19, pragmatic cooperation, cultural exchange, and favorite cities, attracted over 44 million views on online platforms such as Weibo and Facebook.
The silver award winner - Growing Up with the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone in Cambodia - was submitted by the Cambodian Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone, which has received investment from Wuxi-based Hodo Group.
Hodo donated 1 million masks to Cambodia last March to help the country fight the pandemic. Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked the group for its help, and Bun Rany, the first lady, sent a latter of appreciation, saying that the move showed that Chinese people cared about Cambodia.
Zhou Changqing, member of the standing committee of the Wuxi Municipal Party Committee, attended the award ceremony in Wuxi. Zhou said that the participation of a Wuxi company in the event showed the city had a strong sense of social responsibility.
Zhou added that Wuxi will continue to provide a strong business environment to enterprises invested by ASEAN countries and promote more exchange and cooperation with them.
