The GDP of Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province totaled 710.567 billion yuan ($99.12 billion) in the first half of this year, a year-on-year increase of 6.6 percent.
The growth rate is on par with that of the province and 2.1 percentage points higher than the national average.
In the first half of 2023, the value-added of the city's primary industry was 4.879 billion yuan, the same as that of 2022, and the city's secondary and tertiary industries rose 7.6 percent to 332.353 billion yuan and 5.8 percent to 373.336 billion yuan, respectively.
The actual utilization of foreign capital in Wuxi expanded by 5.1 percent from last year to $2.88 billion in the first six months of the year, ranking third in Jiangsu.
The city saw a 10.1 percent year-on-year increase in fixed asset investment in the January-June period and its industrial investment surged 12.8 percent year-on-year in the same period, 3.7 percentage points higher than the provincial average.
The per capita disposable income of the residents in Wuxi totaled 35,428 yuan, up 5.1 percent year-on-year. The per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents amounted to 39,432 yuan and 22,729 yuan, respectively, marking year-on-year increases of 4.8 percent and 6.3 percent. The city's urban-rural income ratio was narrowed to 1.73:1.
