In 2022, the operating revenue of intelligent sensor manufacturers in Wuxi amounted to 20 billion yuan ($2.74 billion), and the city was home to about 200 enterprises involved in the research, design, manufacturing, and system integration of sensors.
The city has established national industrial innovation platforms, including a common technology platform for the design and manufacturing of micro electro mechanical systems and a national center for IoT sensing equipment measurement and testing.
Wuxi is competitive in MEMS chip design, packaging, data fusion, and development of sensor network nodes and has participated in the formulation of eight international standards and 14 national standards in the field of sensors.
