Wuxi in Jiangsu province kicked off its celebrations for this year's International Museum Day and the 2024 China Tourism Day at Wuxi Museum on May 18 and 19, respectively.

To celebrate the China Tourism Day, nearly 30 scenic areas in the city are offering half-price tickets or free admissions from May 19 to 26, during which over 100 cultural activities will be staged at various scenic spots and cultural facilities.

The opening ceremony also unveiled five travel routes for spring and summer, namely, a city walk route, leisure travel route, parent-child route, route for avoiding summer heat, and a low-altitude flight route.

On May 18, the International Museum Day celebrations commenced with over 20 onsite activities involving exhibitions, performances, and intangible cultural heritage items.

In addition, Wuxi Museum, Jiangyin Museum, and Yixing Museum inked cooperation agreements with 14 schools to provide diverse learning environments for students.
In 2023, 65 museums in Wuxi collaborated with 72 middle and primary schools, arranging 58 lectures, 312 trainings, and 247 other activities.
