Rudong county in Nantong, Jiangsu province, has been actively promoting the digital and intelligent transformation of local enterprises in recent years.

Jiang Dong Fittings Equipment Co Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jiangsu Zhongtian Technology Co Ltd, stands out as a notable example. The company specializes in manufacturing products such as fittings, insulators, surge arresters, and photovoltaic brackets.

Jiang Dong has accelerated its efforts in intelligent upgrading over the past two years. On the hardware front, the company has implemented fully automated assembly lines and a self-pouring system to save labor costs, enhance product quality, improve the working environment for employees, and reduce labor intensity.

"All our equipment now utlizes automated data collection, allowing real-time acquisition of production data into the system for backend analysis. This has provided robust data support to the entire production system," said Li Maohua, the production director of the company.

According to Li, since the implementation of online data automatic collection, the company has seen a significant improvement in product qualification rates, daily plan achievement rates, and equipment utilization rates.

The intelligent development of Jiang Dong mirrors Rudong's efforts in propelling the transformation of the manufacturing industry. Presently, the county has 16 companies recognized as municipal-level intelligent workshops, with three awarded provincial-level intelligent workshop status.

By the end of 2023, the county boasted a total of 49 municipal-level intelligent workshops, 21 provincial-level intelligent workshops, and seven provincial-level intelligent factories.

Looking ahead, Rudong will continue to encourage enterprises to intensify efforts in technological transformation, focusing on intelligent upgrading, digital transformation, and network connectivity.
