Rudong county in Nantong, Jiangsu province has been making strides in developing its local green energy resources.

The county's Shuangnan substation is currently the only one in the province that integrates wind power, photovoltaics, energy storage, and industrial users. It possesses the optimal conditions for creating a dedicated green energy substation and conducting green source traceability.

As a secondary substation, Shuangnan efficiently absorbs green energy generated from offshore wind and photovoltaic sources, ensuring local and immediate consumption.

Presently, green energy accounts for 95 percent of the installed capacity at Shuangnan. During peak periods of wind and solar power generation, the entire supply for businesses within the substation area will be sourced from green energy.

The establishment of the Shuangnan substation, which prioritizes new energy, exemplifies Rudong's efforts to create zero-carbon industrial zones. Efforts are underway to boost the consumption and application of new energy as well as the trading capacity of green energy for businesses.
