From January to April, Rudong's import and export values with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative exceeded 13.8 billion yuan ($1.90 billion), a 9.2 percent year-on-year increase.

Among the local enterprises contributing to the achievement is Jiangsu Jiatong Energy Co Ltd, which achieved an export total of 485 million yuan to Belt and Road countries in the first four months of the year.

"This year, the company expanded into markets such as Indonesia and Turkey, resulting in a more than 300-fold year-on-year increase in exports to Belt and Road countries," said Chen Diangen, deputy general manager of the company.

Jiatong Energy has now become a large-scale green intelligent polyester integrated production base. It has achieved the world's first complete process integration of petrochemicals, polyester, and filament production, with a daily output of 12,000 metric tons of purified terephthalic acid and nearly 8,000 tons of polyester filament. Its products are widely used in textiles, automobiles, medical, and other high-end fields globally.
