Rudong county in Nantong enjoyed a significant influx of tourists and shoppers during the recent New Year holiday, drawn by various festive events and promotions. Major commercial districts recorded a combined footfall of 157,900 on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, while scenic spots welcomed over 30,000 visitors during the holiday.

Xiruncheng, a popular shopping mall, proved to be a major crowd-puller, hosting an array of exciting activities, including a midnight fireworks show, a mass balloon release, a circus carnival, intangible heritage performances, and hourly lucky draws. Over 90,000 visitors flocked to the mall during the holiday, contributing to a total sales revenue of 4.8 million yuan ($657,584).

RT-Mart saw a 3.4 percent increase in customer traffic year-on-year, driven by its annual discount event held during the New Year's period.

In Shanghe Yinxiang Block, the annual Yuyuan Lantern Festival officially kicked off on New Year's Day, attracting a crowd of 10,000 for its dazzling lantern lighting ceremony and New Year's Eve performance. The scenic spot, known for its traditional Chinese architecture, also organized unique cultural events, drawing nearly 20,000 visitors during the holiday.

Bencha Ancient Town offered a taste of authentic Chinese New Year traditions, with activities ranging from calligraphy writing and savoring local delicacies to enjoying boat rides on the Ben River, attending special performances at the opera house, and relaxing in hot springs. The attraction welcomed over 20,000 visitors on New Year's Day alone.
