To welcome the upcoming Lantern Festival, which falls on Feb 12 this year, Nantong in Jiangsu province will host a sports carnival on Feb 9 at the Maple Leaf Town Outlets.

This event is set to encompass three major competitions: a street dance invitational, a square dance invitational, and a Darts King challenge.

The street dance invitational is the centerpiece of the event, dedicated to youth participation and comprising three primary competition categories: solo breakdance, freestyle solo, and group dance. This event anticipates 500 street dancers to showcase their talent.

The competition will be divided into three stages: preliminary rounds, elimination rounds, and the final showdown. The champion will receive a top prize of 2,000 yuan ($274.41). The event will also incorporate trendy elements like DJ performances to create an immersive viewing experience.

Simultaneously, the square dance invitational and the Darts King challenge will welcome citizens of different ages to participate.

The event will also feature cultural performances such as dragon dances, traditional Chinese martial arts, and fancy skipping rope, allowing citizens to experience both the excitement of competition and the charm of folk art. The host venue, Maple Leaf Town Outlets, provides one-stop shopping, dining, and entertainment services, offering participants a convenient experience beyond the competitions.
