Rudong accelerates major projects to drive economic growth

Since the beginning of the year, Rudong has prioritized major projects as the primary driver for economic growth. Construction has begun on 18 of the 30 major industrial projects, each valued at over 100 million yuan ($13.8 million) and planned for the first quarter. Among them, 12 projects exceed 500 million yuan in investment, with a total planned investment of 15.27 billion yuan.
On Feb 26, construction began on the Envision offshore and onshore wind power equipment manufacturing base in Yangkou town, Rudong. With a total investment of 550 million yuan, the project is expected to produce 300 wind turbine units annually, supplying the global market. Once fully operational, it is projected to generate 2 billion yuan in annual taxable sales, bolstering Rudong's wind power equipment manufacturing industry.
In Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone, Phase 1 of Koksan's green polyester project, with a total investment of $710 million, commenced ahead of schedule, saving at least 30 working days. The zone also aims to start construction on no fewer than 12 projects each worth over 100 million yuan this year, including one exceeding 10 billion yuan and two over 5 billion yuan.
On Feb 17, Jindanda smart terminal project, with a total investment of $100 million, broke ground in Rudong Economic Development Zone. Upon completion, it will have an annual production capacity of 30 million display modules, 1.5 million smart digital devices, and 20,000 medical terminal displays, with estimated annual sales revenue of over 1 billion yuan.
