Rudong accelerates growth in new energy auto parts industry

In the Rudong Economic Development Zone, Jiangsu Nate New Energy Vehicle Connection Systems is pioneering the transition from traditional to intelligent automotive fasteners. With an investment of 1.15 billion yuan ($158.32 million), the company integrates automation, intelligence, and digitalization into its production lines. Its plant, which began trial production in May 2024, has become a benchmark in the fastener industry, producing 1.4 billion pieces annually.
The automotive parts industry in Rudong is rapidly expanding. Japanese-invested Dowa Metaltech (Nantong), known for its tin and silver plating expertise, has seen a surge in demand, with new orders exceeding 100 million yuan this year. Similarly, the Nantong Coplate Precision Industry is experiencing strong growth, producing inverters for world-renowned automakers.
Innovation is driving the sector forward. Yanfeng (Rudong) Seating has developed advanced headrests supplied to Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Huawei, achieving a 30 percent market share in China. Nantong Deshang Auto Parts Manufacturing dominates the domestic safety belt buckle market with a 60 percent share, while Nantong Yigao Plastics specializes in high-tech auto interior and exterior components.
With strong industry support and advanced facilities, Rudong's automotive sector thrives, reinforcing its position as a key manufacturing hub.
