Nantong receives 2.56m tourists during Qingming Festival holiday

Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province received over 2.56 million tourists during the three-day Qingming Festival holiday, up 26.7 percent year-on-year, which ended on April 6, local media reported on April 6.

The city generated 1.45 billion yuan ($199 million) in tourism revenue, with a year-on-year increase of 25.1 percent.

Among them, the city's monitored A-level tourist attractions, key rural tourism villages, tourist leisure blocks, and cultural and artistic venues cumulatively welcomed nearly 1.45 million tourists, generating tourism sales revenue of 886 million yuan, with year-on-year growth rates of 28.48 percent and 25.7 percent.

Spring is the best time of the year for enjoying flowers and outings. During the holiday, peach blossoms, pear blossoms, cherry blossoms, peonies, and other flowers bloomed in Nantong. Tourists flocked to the scenic spots for outings, flower viewing, and leisure activities, enjoying the beautiful spring scenery.

In Yuantuojiao Resort, the Jianghai Cultural Landscape Avenue is adorned with blooming 500,000 tulips in various colors, offering a picturesque view.

The Langshan Mountain Scenic Area arranged a peony-themed event, showcasing the poetic coexistence of peonies and Langshan Mountain, providing an immersive flower viewing experience. There were also traditional cultural performances, such as the 12 flower gods worshiping peonies and specialty cultural markets.

The Seyuan Garden displays over 200,000 tulips of nearly 20 varieties from the Netherlands in eight color series. Visitors can pose amidst flower bouquets and tulip clusters, creating a scene resembling a beautiful oil painting.
