The two-day 25th Robotex Asia Festival, an annual international robotics competition and festival that originated in Estonia, wrapped up at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) on Jan 3.
Known as one of the largest and most prestigious youth robotics competitions worldwide, the Robotex Asia Finals welcomed over 15,000 young competitors from more than 10 countries and regions, along with over 100,000 visitors.
This year's festival focused on the future of technology, featuring 26 different competition categories that challenged participants to integrate various types of knowledge and innovation.
Young competitors demonstrated their skills in design, coding, artificial intelligence, mechanical building, and live experiments, making it a true showcase of cutting-edge technology.
Since its debut in Shanghai in 2019, Robotex has grown to include not just competitions, but also conferences, tech exhibitions, and workshops.
A highlight of this year's event was the "Global Village" exhibition, which displayed unique tech products from countries like Canada, Germany, and China. This setup created something reminiscent of a miniature "China International Import Expo", with national-themed areas showcasing innovative products and cultural highlights.
The festival also drew delegations from seven Chinese cities, using technology as a bridge for cultural and industrial exchange.
Organizers plan to host the global finals in Shanghai within the next three years.
