The largest and highest-level design event in Zhuhai's history opened on Oct 25 to boost the cultural creation industry.

Zhuhai Design Week will run until Oct 31 while welcoming more than 300 renowned designers in different professions from over 10 countries and regions.

Opening ceremony

Also taking part are representatives of design associations and branding agencies. They will speak about industry trends and seek cooperation for design development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The Zhuhai Design Consensus was released during the opening ceremony. It suggests adopting a "conscious innovation" principle during the design process. This is in line with the theme of the event -- Innovate Again & Again.

2018 Beijing Design Week Invited Exhibition

At the ceremony, Vice Mayor Zhu Qingqiao stressed that design is an important engine for transforming scientific and technological achievements into real products.

Keynote dialogues and parallel forums are being held, accompanied by a range of exhibitions. Highlighted are selected exhibits from Beijing Design Week -- Asia's largest and most influential event in the field and the inspiration for the Zhuhai event.

Zhuhai Design Week is sponsored by Huafa Group, Beijing Gehua Culture Development Group, the Hong Kong Federation of Design Associations, and Macau Design Centre, and enjoys the support of the Zhuhai government.
