Fliggy says 3.4 million came to Zhuhai in travel peak
Tourists coming to Zhuhai by car, bus, train, plane, or boat grew in number to 3.4 million, a year-on-year rise of 11 percent, during the first 21 days of the 40-day Spring Festival travel peak, according to Fliggy, Alibaba's travel service platform.
An increasing number of tourists chose Zhuhai as their domestic travel destination, ranking second on the list with growth of 24 percent.
Meanwhile, motor vehicles carried 1.36 million people during the Feb 4-10 holiday, up 18 percent year on year, announced the Zhuhai Transportation Bureau. Among them, road travelers increased 48.7 percent in number to reach 354,000, including 188,000 intercity and 160,000 intracity trips, up 19.3 percent and 117.7 percent respectively.

Also increasing were air and water traffic, as well as intercity rail transit with 576,000 trips at five stations in Zhuhai, an increase of 13.4 percent from a year earlier.
Traveling primarily through Zhuhai, Macao visitors from the Chinese Mainland doubled in number, reaching almost 900,000 during the week-long holiday, up 26 per cent from last year, according to Macao's tourism office.

Tourist arrivals grew 13.5 percent to 2.19 million in Zhuhai during the week-long Spring Festival holiday that ended Sunday, and produced 1.53 billion yuan ($226 million) in revenue, a year-on-year increase of 25.5 percent.
Quarter-of-a-million fliers handled at Zhuhai Airport
Zhuhai (Jinwan) Airport logged 249,000 inbound and outbound passengers on 1,712 flights between Feb 4 and 10, up 8.2 percent and 7.3 percent.
