Innovation Leadership Academy (ILA) campuses in Hengqin and Tangjiawan will open next September bearing the prestigious accreditation of Harrow School.

The elite boarding schools are based around full-time bilingual education and will jointly provide education from kindergarten to high school in a combined area of over 200 mu (32.9 acres).

The announcements were made on Feb 22 by Harrow International (China) Management Services Ltd, operator of the two schools.

ILA Hengqin is part of Novotown Phase II. It plans to enroll 900 mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, and foreign middle school students in September 2020 and offer them accommodations. The curriculum will center on the Nine-year Compulsory Education Syllabus, while integrating the National Curriculum of England. A center will guide students in entering higher education and career planning.

The other school is located between the former Pearl Land Amusement Park and Zhuhai Lakewood Golf Club in Tangjiawan. Phase I will accommodate 1,500 students and include a Teacher Training Center. Zhuhai Jiuzhou Holdings Group and Singapore-based Yanlord Land are involved in the project.

Established in London in 1572, Harrow School is one of the most prestigious private schools in Britain. Among its grads were UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill and Jawarlal Nehru, the first prime minister of India.
