Zhuhai presents many options for May holiday break
More than 30 major tourism activities, including a Music Festival, Delta Bridge tours, island leisure and rural amusement are in store for May Day holiday visitors from Wednesday through Saturday, the Zhuhai Tourism Development Center announced on April 28.
Environmental protection will be the focus at Zhuhai Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort. Visitors will be advised how to protect the environment on their tour, while enjoying an Outdoor Music Festival also focused on that theme. Meanwhile, more than 150 artists from 20 countries and regions will perform at International Circus City.

Elsewhere on Hengqin Island, Sumlodol Hengqin Camping Town will hold 3V3 trust-based matches (no referees) and billiard competitions.
Five ferry boats will offer visitors close-up views from the sea of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao (HZM) Bridge, Zhuhai-Macao frontier port island and dolphin-shaped steel towers.
Helicopter trips will be taken between Zhuhai Jiuzhou Helipad in Jida and Dong'ao Island presenting a stereoscopic perspective of the bridge, Lovers Avenue, and Zhuhai Opera House. Upon arrival, parties may explore the island's Qing-Dynasty (1636-1912) customs relics site.
Sunshine, beaches, sea breezes, and seafood await those on island getaways. The Wanshan Marine Development Experimental Zone is offering a 20 percent discount on boat tickets for Zhuhai residents through May 31, and has launched island tour and folk culture festival-themed routes on islands.
Doumen District would be the prime choice for urban dwellers on a quest for a natural lifestyle. A Paddy Field Art Festival will take place at Nan'ao Holiday Resort, Baijiao Town. Farmhouse treats, and Hakka, Guangzhou, and Shantou-Chaozhou-Jieyang cuisines will be on offer. Photos may be taken in the vast paddy fields.
The 4th Hakka Culture & Gourmet Festival from May 1 to 4 allows visitors to explore varieties of authentic Hakka food from farmhouses in Xiashan Village.
Other activities in Doumen include Quyi performances (a traditional Chinese folk art, including singing ballads, telling stories, performing comic dialogues and crosstalk), Fun Labor Week at Shiyiren Pitaya Farm, Temple Fair at Yu Wen Quan Imperial Hot Springs Resort, and Folk Culture Festival on Crocodile Island.
