Swan eggs hatch at new leisure Xiangshan Lake Park
A bevy of nine black and two white swans at Xiangshan Lake Park in New Xiangzhou is getting even larger with the recent birth of two furry black cygnets while two more eggs were still being incubated.
Last summer, in the park that had opened only months before, the bevy of swans mated and incubated eggs but the hatchings were not successful.

This time, the eggs were laid by four black swans. The parents of the two newborns had built a nest of weeds from which the cygnets took about a month to emerge from their shells. Now they are learning to swim and forage under the guidance of their parents.
The park has assigned staff to feed the swans pollution-free vegetable leaves, and visitors are forbidden to disturb their rest or feed them. Also known as Fragrant Hill Park, it is located off Jianmin Road (建民路), north of West Meihua Road (梅华西路).
