The plaque "Yinhua Tunnel" was one of the final touches observed Monday on the new passage leading East Renmin Road under Xingye Road in New Xiangzhou, signaling official opening upon approval from the Traffic Police Detachment. 

East Renmin Road is lined with residential areas, stores, companies, hospitals, and schools. The two-way four-lane tunnel will eliminate traffic lights and ease east-west traffic pressure during rush hours.

A reporter observed on Dec 21 that enameled steel plates had been installed in the 420-m (quarter-mile) tunnel and that interior lighting is similar to that of the Banzhang Mt Tunnels. Natural stone was painted on the walls to withstand erosion from rainwater.

The two-way four-lane auxiliary roads on both sides will be built by constructor CCCC Tunnel Engineering after the tunnel opens. By August 2022, motorists will turn left or right to access Zhuhai Women's & Children's Hospital (North Campus) or Xianghua Primary School off Xingye Road from East Renmin Road.

Temporary access roads on the north-south sides of East Renmin Road from the Xihai to Gongshang buildings will be partially closed during construction of the feeders.
