Yili group, a dairy producer, has been listed as one of the most valuable food enterprises in China on the annual BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Chinese Brands list published by advertising holding company WPP and its research firm Kantar Millward Brown on May 6.

It ranked 22nd among 100 entries with a 19 percent year-on-year increase in brand value. It retained the top spot in the food and dairy category for the seventh consecutive year.

Its growth can be attributed to its strong focus on healthy ecosystem development. It is committed to promoting healthy lifestyles by integrating global resources.

The company's continuous efforts to launch high-quality and diverse food products have earned it great popularity among consumers and strengthened its recognition in the global market.

Yili was also named BrandZ's Most Meaningful Brand this year.

Other companies in the Top 100 ranking include leading Chinese brands such as Alibaba, Tencent, ICBC, China Mobile, and Moutai.

The BrandZ ranking, introduced in 2011, measures value based on market data and consumer insights. It aims to give business owners an idea of their brand value and help them build more powerful and valuable brands that consumers and investors will love.

This year, 13 of the list's 24 categories increased in value, with Entertainment seeing the largest year-on-year growth (186 percent), followed by Education (57 percent) and Retail (55 percent). Technology accounted for the most brands in the Top 100, contributing 26 percent of the total value of all listed companies.
